FAQ

How do I book a session?

Begin by filling out the CONTACT FORM. We’ll correspond via e-mail discussing details and to pay your deposit. I accept payment via Venmo, Zelle, cash or check. Once your deposit is received, you’ll officially be on my calendar. We’ll touch base before your session to finalize outfits, locations, and any additional questions you may have.

How many pictures will I receive?

This depends on the session you booked. However, you always have the option to upgrade and purchase your entire gallery for an additional $400 or $80 per image.

How will I get the images from my session?

When your images have been fully-edited, the entire collection will be uploaded to an online gallery. You will then receive a url (web link) via e-mail where you can view, download, share and order prints on any computer, tablet, or smartphone device that has internet access. Professional lab quality prints can be ordered directly within your gallery. The prints are reasonably priced, high-quality and most importantly, your images will have the correct color tones.

What is your cancellation policy?

For portrait sessions, client forfeits their session retainer paid to book the session. However, the fee can be credited towards a future session if the client reschedules the appointment by calling 72 hours prior to the date of session and re-booking at an agreeable date and time.

For weddings and events, if for any reason the Client cancels before the wedding date, the Photographer will keep the the event retainer fee paid to hold the wedding or event date as a cancellation fee. Cancellation must be made in writing, by mail or e-mail. However, if the client requires to change the wedding date, I will do my best to accommodate the change and no fee will be charged as long as the new date is available and within five months of the original event date. If I am not available for the new date, the original contract will be cancelled and subject to the cancellation policy.

What should I wear?

Picking a color palette of 3-4 colors such as pastels, earth tones, neutrals, etc. should be your starting point . Once you have your color palette, don't try to match everyone instead coordinate. Pick an outfit and pull colors from that to coordinate everyone else. If you need extra help, I'd be happy to talk you thru it.

Will I own my images?

Sort of! You are able to download, print, make discs, and share the images from your session with friends and family. This is called a ‘Shared Print Release’ and allows each client the perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free right and license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display in print, electronic or any other medium, copies of the photographs in whole. The Studio at South Bay retains the copyright of all original images. Please do not alter the images in any way.

Is the deposit/retainer refundable?

Unfortunately deposit/retainer is non-refundable and here is why. Once the deposit/retainer is paid, I block off the date from my schedule to only serve you which means I won't be booking anyone else. However, the fee can be credited towards a future session if the you reschedule the appointment by calling 72 hours prior to the date of session and re-booking at an agreeable date and time.

Do you offer complimentary engagement sessions?

Yes!!! Once you have booked your wedding and paid your deposit/retainer, you will be given a one hour complimentary engagement session. This is a great way for us to get to know each other and chat about your big day ahead.
